The proposed specialization is a pedagogical response to the growing challenges related to the growing awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, health prophylaxis and the aging of the Polish and European society, and the resulting real needs of comprehensive support for the quality of life of older people. The program of the specialization covers the development of knowledge describing health and caring for it as a lifelong process, concerning all people, with particular emphasis on the elderly. Graduates gain interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of pedagogy, health sciences, social gerontology, psychology of aging, as well as education and health promotion, social and therapeutic work as well as social assistance, necessary for support and care and activation activities for seniors.
